Jeffrey V. Fucci, Esq.

Prior to launching his own practice, Mr. Fucci represented municipalities, school boards, public entities and private clients throughout the State of New Jersey. Mr. Fucci clerked for the Hon. Ernest M. Caposela, Assignment Judge of the Superior Court, Passaic Vicinage, where he was responsible for advising the judge on the disposition of civil motions, foreclosure cases and condemnation actions, including the ongoing New Jersey Department of Transportation expansion of State Highway Route 46. Mr. Fucci also mediated landlord tenant and small claims disputes for the Special Civil Division during his clerkship, and benefitted from specialized mediation training he received in this area.

Mr. Fucci is a graduate of Vermont Law School, magna cum laude. While attending VLS, he was a student clinician in the school’s Land Use Clinic, where he worked for the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources on matters including an ongoing appeal to FEMA following destruction by Tropical Storm Irene. He was a litigator on the traveling Intensive Trial Practice Team, and briefed and argued a statutory interpretation case before the Vermont Supreme Court. He received the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Award, the Alumni Association Award, and a commendation from the Office of Vermont Appellate Defender at graduation. In addition to his J.D., Mr. Fucci holds Masters degrees from Vermont Law School in Environmental Law and Public Policy, and from Seton Hall University in Public Administration.

A lifelong resident of Bergen County, Mr. Fucci has previously served as a spokesperson for the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission (now part of the New Jersey Sports and Exhibition Authority), as Deputy Communications Director for Senator Paul A. Sarlo, District 36, and as a journalist for a regional weekly newspaper. He was instrumental in the creation of the Development Offices of both Saint Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, where he attended high school, and the Academy of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Tenafly, where he spent several years coordinating fundraising campaigns, events, outreach and charity programs.

Outside of his law practice, Mr. Fucci enjoys spending time outdoors. During the Spring and Summer months, he leads and narrates pontoon boat tours on the Hackensack River, as part of the New Jersey Sport and Exposition Authority’s environmental eco-cruises. Mr. Fucci and his wife, Kathryn Clores, spend much of their time operating their own urban vegetable farming project, K&J Urban Farms. The couple and their Labrador, Wolfgang, reside in Bergen County.

Our Philosophy

Based in the Meadowlands region of northern New Jersey, with offices in East Rutherford, J. Fucci Law, LLC provides client-focused, community-concerned legal services on matters including contract interpretation & drafting; letter writing; property issues; landlord/tenant issues; environmental compliance; planning, land use & zoning; wills, trusts, & estates; civil rights and constitutional issues, and more.

While attending Vermont Law School, Mr. Fucci studied under some of the most ethical scholars he had ever known. More than just lawyers, his professors were conscientious problem-solvers, who shouldered the economic struggles of the local rural community along with the environmental ones of the planet. They worked side-by-side with first year students and farmers to clean mud out of basements when Tropical Storm Irene nearly washed Vermont away, and were back at the podium the next day teaching classes about contracts and evidence. Ideas were foremost in their mind. Listening was their practice. Helping others solve their problems was their goal.

The special type of law school where Mr. Fucci earned his training, and the unique students, professors and local residents he met while there, is what has inspired him to open a different kind of law firm. Reflection upon these valuable relationships, and the ones Mr. Fucci formed in his clerkship in the Passaic County courts, working at DeCotiis, FitzPatrick, Cole and Giblin, LLP, and through continually-growing relationships with fellow Green Knights alumni from Saint Joseph Regional High School and Pirates alumns from Seton Hall University is what fueled the creation of J. Fucci Law, LLC.

Truly listening to clients’ concerns proves what can be possible, and opens up endless potential ways the law can be used for the good of the community
